A Matte Revolution

Last month I treated myself to A Charlotte Tilbury lipstick, I went for the colour Love Liberty from the Matte Revolution range. This range promises to create the allusion of fuller, wider lips by using 3D glowing pigments. A lipstick that soothes and hydrates as well as leaving a cashmere matte finish, how could I resist?

The packaging of all of Charlotte Tiburys make up range is insanely beautiful, its all very old Hollywood, glamorous and timeless. The box is ox-blood colouring with rose gold text, immediately I'm drawn in.

Upon opening the box I am greeted with the most gorgeous rose toned gold applicator tube.

Moving on to the actual lipstick, as you can see the applicator is different to your normal lipstick shape, the tip is square angled to mimic the shape of a lip brush to allow precise application. I found this so easy to apply and the square tip is brilliant for filling in the top of the lips, it makes the application so clean and precise.

Side note: I've just had to retake these pictures of the applicator as I seem to have lost the original ones, I hope you enjoy Coco the cat! As you can see she is very excited for her début

What I love most about this lipstick is the different ways you can wear it. When first looking at the colour I only thought that I would use it as an evening lipstick, or for a very made up make-up look. How wrong was I? Very! It's so easy to build up the coverage for a more darker vampy look for the evenings, but one slick application, blended out with a brush, provides a much more wearable day time look. You still get the gorgeous matte finish and the long staying power, just a more subtle colour. Just be careful when topping up throughout the day! Too many trips to the powder room to top up will result in a much darker look so if that's not what you're going for, be careful to not over do it. Alternatively if you love the darker look then layer layer layer!

The whole range is beautiful and there are so many colours I would love to try (Mainly- Amazing Grace, Lost Cherry and Red Carpet Red) and I would also love to try one of the K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipsticks, a much more glossy product (my colours to try are Love Bite, Night Crimson and So Marilyn)

At £23 a lipstick these are definitely high end and it may take a very long time, but when it comes to a lipstick range this gorgeous, it's a must have situation and they all belong in my make up bag!

Have you tried any of the lipsticks from the Matte Revolution or K.I.S.S.I.N.G range? I would love to hear your comments and know what your favourite colours are! Equally, if anyone else is coveting the entire lipstick collection as much as I am, I would love to know what colour is the top of your wish list! xoxo

Holiday Gifts £25 of less: For Her

We all know that gift buying can be one of the hardest things to do and it can make Christmas time very stressful for some people. I always find the hardest to buy for are relatives like cousins, aunts and sometimes sister(s)! My sister is nearly 13 and she's completely grown out of toys and is just starting to take an interest in make up so from the below list I would probably get her the make up bag and perhaps the Topshop set. Secret Santa also stresses me out! We always do a Secret Santa at my work and if you end up getting a girl you don't really know it can be tricky picking a present. Perhaps you're struggling with a Secret Santa present or with what to buy your teenage cousin or picky aunt?  I would be more than happy to give (or receive) any of the below (in fact I've actually purchased a few of them as gifts) so I hope they help you out too.
