Roller Lash Review

I received a trial size of the new Benefit Mascara, Roller Lash, on Saturday and I've been trying it out every day since. I've got to say that my initial thoughts are that I'm very impressed! I've always been a bit hit and miss with Benefit Mascara but I'm really pleased with this one.

It gives you long fluttery flirty lashes, not a clump in site and it's easy to remove at the end of the day. I don't think I would use this mascara for an evening look as I would want something that gives bigger, thicker volume but this mascara lengthens, curls and lifts. It gives a gorgeous fanned fluttery look, perfect for a summer date.

Time To Clean

We all spend hours upon hours browsing make-up brushes to find out what the best brush is for applying our foundation, concealer, powder, for contouring, for our lips, all the eye brushes needed to achieve your favourite look, the list goes on and on and on. There are just so many brushes out there and if you're anything like me, your collection of brushes just keeps growing and growing!

Despite how many brushes we have we need to be remembering to give them a good clean! Some people recommend once a week, once a month, twice a month etc, I personally think once a month is fine but I tend to wash my most used (mainly foundation) more often as they are the ones that get clogged up most frequently.

Paris, je t'aime

Last month Tom and I took a short trip to Paris, mainly for my birthday but we also desperately needed a break to spend some time together. Despite all the dramas of our lives we had a lovely time away, we left all the stresses and messes at home and decided to just go and to just be. It was so peaceful and calming and neither of us can wait to go back.

This was our fourth visit to Paris and each time I go I find that I rediscover everything that made me fall in love with the city in the first place and it never gets monotonous. The food, the wine, the people, the museums, the architecture, the history, the city seduces you and makes you never want to leave. Begrudgingly however we did leave, but we are already planning a summer break to the city and I just cant wait.

I think if I could pick anywhere in the whole entire world to spend the rest of my life, Paris I would choose you!

If anyone was wondering, the make-up that I am wearing in the picture, and the make-up that I wore on our trip was:

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer
Chanel Perfection Lumiére Velvet
Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder
MAC Matte Bronzer
Stila Love Blush
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade
Dior Addict It-Lash Mascara
Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Underage Red

I hope you are all having a lovely weekend, I'm going to go and try to snap out of my holiday blues! xoxo

February Favourites

So lets kick of this reunion with my February Favourites!

Chanel Perfection Lumière Velvet

This is honestly one of the nicest foundations I've ever used. It's so lightweight and smooth, it gives a gorgeous velvety finish and I would say its a light to medium coverage but you can layer it up for a more heavy coverage. Normally I go for medium to high coverage foundations as I suffer with blotches on my skin and can get very dark bags so usually my number 1 priority with foundation is that everything is completely covered. With this Chanel foundation, even though its a light to medium coverage, it still blurs out blemishes and evens out the skin tone without weighing your face down which is so lovely. It also lasts a really long time and I can get a rather oily t-zone throughout the day but find I'm only going over with a powder once, generally about 5 hours after first applying the foundation. At £33 it is rather pricey but I always feel that if you're going to invest in an expensive make-up product then it should always be a foundation, radiant velvet skin is a must have in my books! ps you can currently get 10% this product over at Debenhams, just click on the title link!

Anastasia Beverly Hills, DIPBROW and #12 Brush

I know that this is probably everyone's holy grail eyebrow product but nobody could ever explain just how much this will change your life! I picked both up in Sephora in NYC and was so so excited to try it out. Its is so easy to use and you can get your brows perfected and ready within minutes. Its such a clean and quick product to use, its waterproof and lasts alllll day. If you are having any doubts about purchasing this, or if your just not sure if its worth the money....trust me, it is!

Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer

I love this for concealing my under eye area, there is an ever so slight shimmer/sparkle in the formula that works wonders for reflecting the light and giving the illusion of a solid 8 hours sleep! It disguises dark circles and brightens up your face. Its a great alternative to YSL's Touché Éclat. As amazing as Touché is lets be honest here, I don't want to be wearing it every single day as its a pretty pricey product. If I did wear it every day I'd probably be repurchasing it every month and that is not good for a girls bank balance! This Rimmel concealer is such a good cheaper option for everyday wear, I don't really rate the Wake Me Up foundation but this concealer is ideal for under eyes and I just stick to my Collection Lasting Perfection for concealing the rest of my face!

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Lipstick

It was my birthday in February and this lipstick was one of my birthday presents from my amazing friends at work. The colour that the girls picked is so gorgeous, its a relatively sheer berry shade, it's no 9 and is called Pink Caress. It can be layered up to achieve a darker look which I also love but to spice up your every day make-up I love to use just one slick of this lipstick. It lasts all day and almost fades to a stain which I love as it makes it easier when darkening the look in the evening but it also means you don't have to worry about wiping off your lipstick when you eat/drink! The actual lipstick tube is so pretty which is a great bonus :)

Vans Metallic Rose Gold Trainers

These Vans were my birthday present from Toms mum. I've wanted them for ages but I kept finding them out of stock in most places but luckily she managed to get them from somewhere. I love them so much and am excited to wear them out once the weather gets better (I don't want to ruin them in the rain!)

Ladurèe Macaroons

Tom and I went to Paris for a few days for my birthday and no trip to Paris is complete without picking up a few macaroons from Ladurèe! They are so yummy I could honestly eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The flavours in this box are (L-R) Coffee, Pistachio, Lemon, Raspberry, Blackcurrant and Chocolate.

So these are the beauty products and other items that I have absolutely loved throughout February, I hope you enjoyed the post :) let me know if you've been loving any of these too and I'd also love to have a read of your Feb favs xoxo
